Support Information
SOLVE & DEFEND EVENT:
Adults should organize students into teams of 3–4 and assign each team to a designated work table. A judge will begin by delivering the first scenario on green paper, indicating the entry level of rigor. Teams are expected to collaboratively solve the problem and complete all required questions on their response sheet. Once finished, teams will report to the judge station to present and defend their work. Judges will evaluate both accuracy and explanation. If a team scores below 65, they should be directed back to their table to revise their work and resubmit. After more than two resubmission attempts, an adult mentor should be assigned to support the team. Teams that earn a score of 65 or higher will advance to the next level scenario. Throughout the session, teams should be encouraged to complete as many scenarios as possible, with each level increasing in complexity, while emphasizing teamwork, problem-solving, and clear mathematical communication.

ARGUMENTUM EVENT:
The Augumentum Competition gives students the opportunity to participate in structured team debates in groups of four. Upon arrival, students will be assigned to table work settings and provided with their debate topics. Each team is required to bring its own technology devices and have access to a personal hotspot, although Wi-Fi is expected to be available as a backup. Teams will have 60 minutes to research and prepare for their debate before being divided into two groups to compete. During each debate, teams will argue both sides of the issue, with two students supporting the affirmative position and two students preparing the opposing argument. Each team will participate in three debate rounds, and their final score will be determined by averaging the scores from all three debates.
