We Create a Different Experience To Build and Support Success for Students.

SEE WHAT WE OFFER…….

Fostering Inclusive Growth Through Broad Participation

At our organization, we believe in systemic growth—and that means providing opportunities for every student to learn and excel. Our events are designed to be inclusive, welcoming students from 3rd to 8th (Solve & Defend Competition) and 4th to 12th grade (Argumentum Event), regardless of their current skill level. Whether they are average or above-average students, we want to ensure all can participate and grow.

What Sets Us Apart:

  • Broad Access for Schools: Schools have the unique opportunity to send up to multiple teams to each Divisional Event—with no restrictions on participation across multiple events. This allows a larger group of students to engage, compete, and experience the benefits of debate, beyond just the top performers.
  • Commitment to Growth for All: We don’t limit participation to the “best” students; we encourage broad involvement to ensure that more students have the chance to build skills, confidence, and knowledge in a supportive environment.

What We Offer:

Engaging Speaking & Strategy Sessions: When students aren’t actively participating in their competitive events, they can attend our Speaking and Strategy Sessions, designed to enhance their skills and deepen their understanding of competitive strategies.

Extensive Support for Schools & Students: Our Support Page will outline all the tools and resources available, including sample debate topics, sample critical thinking questions. and step-by-step success tips for teachers and parents to guide students effectively.

Mentorship Opportunities: During Regional and National Events, we bring in mentors from colleges and businesses to work with students, providing them with personalized guidance and insights that help them grow.

What Our Events Look Like: A Tradition of Exciting, Engaging Competitions

At our organization, we pride ourselves on creating dynamic and unforgettable experiences for students through our competitive events. With a history of high-energy competitions that motivate and challenge, we ensure every participant leaves feeling inspired and accomplished. Here’s what you can expect when you join us:

A Full Day of Excitement and Growth:

  • Bands of Debaters: Students are grouped into “bands,” creating a cohesive and supportive community throughout the event.
  • Structured for Every Age Group: Students in grades 3rd to 5th compete in our Elementary Division in the mornings, while 6th through 12th graders take the stage in the afternoons.
  • Motivating Welcome: We kick off each event with an energizing welcome session that includes music and celebrations. We recognize that it’s a big commitment for students to participate, and we ensure they feel appreciated from the moment they arrive.
  • Argumentum Event: After the welcome session, students receive their assignments and head to their workstations. Each team is given a debate topic—but with no pre-prepared speeches. Our debates are designed to ensure that all students compete on a level playing field by eliminating reliance on rehearsed speeches.
    • Research Time & Collaboration: Teams are given 60 minutes to research their assigned topic. With 4 members per team, we recommend dividing responsibilities—2 students focus on the Affirmative side, while the other 2 tackle the Opposition. To support them, we provide detailed research guides to help them organize their arguments.
    • Competitive Debate Rounds: The main event consists of 3 competitive rounds where two schools debate head-to-head. In each round, teams will present both the Affirmative and Opposition positions during a 40-minute debate. After every round, teams are matched against different opponents and judged by a different panel, ensuring a variety of perspectives and learning opportunities.
    • Advancement & Recognition: After the final round, scores are tabulated, and teams learn if they’ve earned a spot to advance. At the Divisional Level, around 65% of teams progress to the Regional stage, with approximately 40% of Regional teams moving on to the National Championship. Although the standards get tougher at each stage, the experience and growth along the way are priceless.
  • Solve & Defend Event: Students are grouped based on grade levels, then work in groups of 3-4 students to solve the critical thinking questions.
    • Students receive their critical thinking senario then work to solve the problem within a given time frame. The Teams may complete additional scenarios, if time permits.
    • Students must take their responses to the Judging Area to defend their solutions and work practices.
  • Celebratory Awards Ceremony: The event concludes with an exciting awards ceremony, complete with music, cheering, and plenty of recognition for the hard work and achievements of all our scholars. It’s a celebration of learning, growth, and the spirit of friendly competition!
